1976 US NAVY G-1 Flight Jacket - Genuine US Military Issue

This is a "G-1" flight jacket, a symbol of the US Navy.
This particular jacket is a 1976 model, "MIL-J-7823E(AS)", manufactured by IMPERIAL LEATHER & SPORTSWEAR INC.
It's a 70s-era E-type, and the goatskin leather is quite rare.

⚫︎ Late-Production Goatskin
In the 1970s, the G-1 began to transition from goatskin to cowhide.
This 1976 model is a "valuable piece from the final period when goatskin was used."
It has the supple feel unique to goatskin, and the fine, beautiful grain (surface texture) that is not found in current products or later cowhide models.

• USN Punching: The front placket clearly displays the "USN" punching, a mark of genuine military issue not found on civilian versions.
• Size: A desirable size "40"

⚫︎ Condition
Please note the following points due to this being a vintage item from approximately 50 years ago:
• Ribbing: There is damage such as moth-eaten areas and fraying on the hem ribbing (Photos 4-6). The overall look is excellent, but repair is recommended for those concerned.
• Leather: There is some wear and tear appropriate for its age, but the goatskin retains its suppleness, and there are no tears.
